Complete closure of state road 2089: construction work starts now!
The renovation of state road 2089 between Hohenthann and Mailling begins on Monday, June 26, 2025. How Radio Charivari reported, the route will be fully closed until September 12, 2025. These measures are part of a comprehensive project in which the Free State of Bavaria is investing around 1.9 million euros.
Detours via Aßling, Ostermünchen and Rott are signposted to control traffic during the total closure. Nevertheless, regular and school bus services will be able to continue operating largely as usual. During this time, a crossing aid with new drainage will also be created in Schönau to improve safety for pedestrians.
Progress on other construction projects
While the renovation of state highway 2089 is in full swing, reports Bavarian State Building Administration an almost completed construction site for the pedestrian and cycle path along state road 2089 between Grafing and Oberelkofen. However, this work is affected by delays due to an inspection and possible replacement of the insulation of a gas pipe by a specialist company. Therefore, the full closure of the affected route was extended until Monday, November 25, 2024.
From November 26, 2024, a safe connection for pedestrians and cyclists will be provided between Bachhäusl (Grafenweg junction) and Oberelkofen. The new route will be officially opened to traffic on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. Among those present will be Dr. Hermann Streicher, head of the road construction department, as well as several local politicians.
The State Building Administration provides a site plan for anyone interested and invites you to register for the event by sending an email to presse@stbaro.bayern.de.
These initiatives demonstrate the Free State of Bavaria's commitment to improving the region's infrastructure in order to increase both traffic safety and the quality of life of local residents.
