Schützenfest in Schönau: traditional event is just around the corner!

The time has come again in the coming week: From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the eagerly awaited shooting festival will take place in Schönau-Altenwenden. The festival is organized by the St. Elisabeth shooters who cordially invite the population to this traditional event. Preparations are already in full swing, and the anticipation in the community is noticeable.

On Friday afternoon, the shooting festival will open with the start of the shooters at the Gasthof Wurm "Bützers". From there, the shooting range marches to Lindenplatz, where the outgoing royal couple, Philipp Stursberg and Rebecca Aryz, as well as the young shooter king Max Wohlfahrt are ceremoniously picked up.

A special highlight of the festival is the fallen ceremony at the cenotaph, in which the soldiers who died in the wars are commemorated. This is followed by the exciting determination of a new king and young rifle king on the bird pole on "m cams". This tradition attracts numerous visitors every year and ensures a festive and venerable setting.
