Shooting festival in Schönau: A traditional event is just around the corner!

It's that time again next week: the eagerly awaited shooting festival will take place in Schönau-Altenwenden from June 27th to 29th, 2025. The festival is organized by the St. Elisabeth Riflemen, who cordially invite the population to this traditional event. Preparations are already in full swing and the anticipation in the community is palpable.

The shooting festival opens on Friday afternoon with the appearance of the shooters at the Wurm “Bützers” inn. From there, the shooting community marches to Lindenplatz, where the outgoing royal couple, Philipp Stursberg and Rebecca Arenz, as well as the young shooting king Max Wohlfahrt are ceremonially picked up.

Program highlights and honors

A special highlight of the festival is the honoring of the fallen at the memorial, where the soldiers who died in the wars are remembered. This is followed by the exciting investigation of a new king and young archer king at the bird perch on “m Nocken”. This tradition attracts numerous visitors every year and creates a festive and venerable setting.

The shooting festivals are not only an important cultural part of the region, but also an opportunity to experience community and maintain old acquaintances. During the three days, numerous activities and events are planned that appeal to both young and old.
