District music festival 2025: solemn sounds and exciting street actions!

The district music festival in Westallgäu is just around the corner, organized by the Grünenbach band on the occasion of its 250th anniversary. From Thursday, June 5, to Sunday, June 8, 2025, both locals and visitors can experience a varied program that will take place in the Schönau district behind the Denklingen cheese dairy. The marquee offers space for around 2500 guests and consists of a main and bar tent, so that everyone can easily attend the celebrations.

The festival starts on Thursday evening with a traditional beer tapping at 7 p.m., followed by a unique foam party with the Allgäu Feard at 9 p.m. Friday promises exciting entertainment with a star march at 6 p.m. and a mood evening with music bands from GRATZ, Missen and Oberreute. The country pop rock band "Dirt Road" will appear in the bar at 11 p.m. and further heat up the mood.

Saturday brings a special highlight for the youth: At 11 a.m., the 25th anniversary of the Argertal youth band is celebrated with a move and musical performances. In the afternoon there is a district senior meeting with entertainment by the district senior orchestra. The evening is all about party music, with "Hofenbrass" at 7 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. the band "Muckasäck" will continue to inspire the festival visitors.

A festive Sunday service at 9 a.m. will initiate the last day of the district music festival. Then there is a morning drink at 10.30 a.m., followed by a total choir at 1 p.m. and the parade at 1.30 p.m. The weekend is completed with a final party evening with "Solid Age" with good music at 6 p.m.

Important information on road closures

Due to the events, numerous road closures are necessary. From Thursday, 6 p.m. to Monday, 6 a.m., the main street between Grünenbach Bergstraße and Schönau and Heimhofer Straße between Rutzhofen and Schönau will be completely closed. There is also special information for Friday where the center of Schönau is closed from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to ensure the star march. On Sunday, the main street between Grünenbach and Schönau and the entire village of Schönau will be closed to the parade from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

If you want to take part in the celebrations, you should note that the tickets can best be purchased at the box office. The prices are in the low double -digit range, and admission is even free of charge on Sunday evening. A card payment in the marquee is not possible; However, visitors can withdraw cash with the EC card at the bonkasses.
