Riots in Leipzig: 15 rioters cause chaos and destruction!

There were significant riots in the Schleußig district of Leipzig on Wednesday evening. A group consisting of 10 to 15 people, some of whom were masked, rioted and caused considerable damage to property. Graffiti reading “Free Maja” was sprayed on a supermarket. Maja T. is a non-binary person who has been detained in Berlin since December 2023 and extradited to Hungary in June 2024. She is accused of committing bodily harm during protests against right-wing extremists. During the riot, objects were thrown at police officers when they arrived at the scene, but there were no injuries. The fire department had to put out the fire.
