Leipzig-Schleußig: 66-year-old throws object out of window onto car!

An incident occurred in Leipzig-Schleußig on Friday in which a 66-year-old man is accused of seriously interfering with road traffic. The suspect allegedly threw an object out his window at a passing car. Witnesses informed police around 5 p.m., prompting an immediate response from authorities.

A subsequent search of the man's home revealed a slingshot loaded with stone balls that may have been used in the attack. The damaged vehicle has several dents and a completely destroyed window. The damage caused amounts to around 2,300 euros, but fortunately the driver was uninjured. The police have initiated investigations into dangerous interference with road traffic and damage to property, as LVZ reports.

connection with further incidents

A similar incident occurred on June 27th in Leipzig-Miltitz, where unknown perpetrators stole a black Renault Captur worth around 20,000 euros. These thefts are not uncommon in the region, and the police there have also started investigations into particularly serious thefts. The perpetrators probably used the original key that the vehicle owner had previously lost. The Renault was advertised as being wanted, as can be read on the Saxony Police website.

There was also another report of property damage in Leipzig-Schleußig on the same day. It is stated here that a man damaged a moving car with an object around 5:05 p.m., with the circumstances similar to the 66-year-old's incident, which later became the focus of the investigation.

Other incidents and events

On June 27th there was also a threatening incident in Lossatal, where a 65-year-old threatened a neighbor with a dangerous object. Here too, the police reacted quickly and secured the suspect in his apartment, where numerous weapons and ammunition were seized. Fortunately, no one was injured and the man's firearms license is currently under review.

In another part of the city, Christopher Street Day took place in the center of Leipzig on June 28th. The parade, which started at Augustusplatz at around 1:15 p.m., attracted around 19,000 participants and took place without any significant disruptions, although there were traffic delays in the city area.

A fire in an empty building in Borna on June 28th also occupied the emergency services, but was quickly brought under control. Nobody was injured.

Overall, it can be seen that the police in Leipzig are currently confronted with various incidents and the investigations into the incidents are given high priority.
