RB Leipzig's U17 reached the final of the German championship on June 8, 2025 with a convincing 5-1 win over VfB Stuttgart. This impressive result was achieved in the semi-final, which took place in the Sonnenhof Großaspach stadium. Coach Tim Krömer, who leads the team at the age of 33, was pleased with the strong performance of his young players.
However, the game started with a shock for Leipzig when VfB Stuttgart took the lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Yigit. But in the second half, the Leipzig team showed their fighting spirit. With goals from Kaltefleiter, Naumann (two goals), Tomasevic and Franke, they turned the game in their favor. Kaltefleiter made it 1-1 in the 59th minute, followed by Naumann, who scored in the 65th and 90th +4 minutes. Gabriel, who is 16 years old and plays in the role of central defender, only moved from Viktoria Köln to VfB Stuttgart last summer. After the game, Giovanni tried to comfort his son by sharing a biblical saying (Isaiah 40:31) on Instagram.
Andrea Berg, a well-known pop star, was also among the 850 spectators. She followed the exciting game alongside her husband Ulrich Ferber, the advisor to numerous Stuttgart professionals and a good acquaintance of VfB Stuttgart.
