Last Sunday, a hot summer day, the Militzer Jahnbad in the Triebischtal enjoyed great popularity. Many visitors flocked to the newly opened outdoor pool in Klipphausen, which has been in operation since May 2023. The snack under the direction of Rico Fiedler offered a variety of dishes, including the popular currywurst with homemade sauce, fresh fish rolls and various pasta dishes. Fiedler, who previously worked in the restaurant area, fights with the challenges of snacking, in particular the lack of personnel and weather -dependent closings.
Despite these hurdles, the snack bar and the entire facility received consistently positive feedback from the guests. "The mood is friendly and there is hardly any complaints about the waiting times," reports Fiedler, who spoke of a record visit last Sunday with 1011 guests. The bathers also expressed wishes, in particular a renewal of the mini golf course and the introduction of a baby pool. Around 4 million euros are required as an investment for this. Of this amount, 1.9 million euros are planned for the renewal of the pump technology, which is already over 20 years old. The baby basin, which is also required, could be realized in 2027 at the earliest, since 1.5 million euros are required for this.
The water quality in the outdoor pool benefits from the natural source from the old Miltitz lime mine. In addition, the system offers various attractions, including a large wave slide, a children's slide and an island with water fountains that are very well received by visitors.
Overall, the general mood among the bathers shows as positive. The high level of satisfaction with the food and the leisure offer ensures that the Militzer Jahnbad remains a popular destination for families and swimming enthusiasts. Fiedler would like to continue to work to fulfill the wishes of the guests and to successfully design the snack site in the long term.
