Lübeck calls: Demonstration #NieWiederStill on August 16th!

The Lübeck Christopher Street Day (CSD) will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with the motto “#NieWiederStill”. The event starts at 12 p.m. at the Lübeck market and promises to once again send a strong signal for the visibility of the LGBTIQA+ community. The call for active participation comes from the Lübeck SPD, which underlines the political importance of the CSD. Sandra Odendahl, equality policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group, emphasizes: “The visibility of queer lifestyles is an important social concern.” The SPD parliamentary group will actively participate in the planned events, including the street festival and the demonstration.

The event traditionally opens with the raising of the rainbow flag by Mayor Jan Lindenau. With this, Lübeck's mayor is sending a clear signal for gender equality and supporting the goals of the CSD. “We would like to thank the organizers of the Lübeck CSD e.V. for their commitment,” said the SPD parliamentary group, which is committed to strengthening tolerance and acceptance among the population.

Commitment of the organizers

The Lübeck CSD e.V. is a non-profit organization that actively works to make queer lifestyles visible. The organization of Christopher Street Day is considered the largest political event in the Lübeck area and shows the association's commitment through political and social action. The aim is to strengthen acceptance of LGBTIQA+ lifestyles and to promote encounters and exchange in the city through various campaigns. These activities are now firmly anchored in Lübeck's cultural life, which further underlines the importance of this event, luebeck-pride.de reports that such initiatives often also address other social issues.

Lübeck Pride Week is not only a celebration of diversity, but also a call to actively fight for equality and social justice. This message is also reinforced by the support of local politics.
