Fummelei Chrome: The new fashion hotspot for second-hand lovers!
With a fresh concept and stylish furnishings, the new concept store “Fummelei Chrome” has opened at Odermannstraße 1 in Lindenau. Since the end of May, owner Pia Neumann has been delighting fashion enthusiasts with her focus on second-hand and newly manufactured clothing. T-shirts emblazoned in the shop window read “Beautiful living without bullshit”, while the interior is striking in silver and pink - shiny metallic curtains serve as a changing room, and pink-painted shelves display the fashionable pieces. Neumann, who has been running the “Fummelei” on Eisenbahnstrasse for five years, describes “Fummelei Chrome” as the “little fancy sister” of the original store.
Their concept is to provide a platform for other designers while presenting a selection that is closely linked to pop culture. The clothes on offer shine not only because of their unique designs, but also thanks to the careful selection, which includes pieces such as a pink dress with plush pigs. Neumann understands the challenges of selling fashion, but finds great personal fulfillment in her business.
Sustainability in focus
Parallel to the opening of “Fummelei Chrome”, the “Wiederschön” venue in Leipzig offers opportunities to address sustainability and the circular economy. Practical workshops take place here in which the focus is on upcycling and creative redesign of old objects. Discussions with experts from the environmental and sustainability industry as well as creative markets with regional artists will also be held. These events are often open to the public and aimed at a wide audience, although registration is required for certain events.
Neumann himself is aware of the importance of sustainable fashion. The focus on refined second-hand fashion is not only due to environmental concerns, but also reflects her personal style and her roots in the fashion world. She also plans to respond to her customers' needs in the future while keeping her store's developments open.
The concept store is open Thursday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. This gives those interested the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world that combines fashion, art and a sustainable lifestyle, and thus offers a complement to the lively initiatives in the city that promote environmental awareness and individual creativity.
With their unique approach to fashion and a clear focus on sustainability, both “Fummelei Chrome” and “Wiederschön” are making their mark in Leipzig. The combination of aesthetics and ecological principles shows that fashion can not only look good, but can also contribute to a better future.
