Sensational frog theater delights children at the Büttendorfer Mühle!
On Monday, June 3, 2025, several cultural and festive activities took place in the region, attracting citizens and visitors alike. In the afternoon, six children appeared in Büttendorf in frog costumes, giving a visual sample of an extensive program on the Büttendorfer Mühle stage. The little “green eye-catchers” then posed for a group photo, which symbolized the beginning of the LandArt cultural weeks in the Mühlenkreis. These cultural weeks are characterized by a variety of artistic performances and events that highlight the creative potential of the region, as westfalen-blatt.de reports.
At the same time, the entire village of Vahle celebrated the Hüpperfest, which had a special occasion this year: the gymnastics club can look back on a hundred-year history, while the equestrian club celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. The celebrations began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph, followed by a procession that included the boards of both clubs and a trombone choir. Despite massive rain showers, the festival tent remained steadfast and offered festival visitors protection, as [hna.de](https://www.hna.de/lokales/uslar-solling/das-ganze-dorf- Feiert-93151644.html) reports.
Attractions and honors
The number of participants at the festival was significant, with 26 teams taking part in a handcart rally. The highlight of the evening was the disco evening with DJ Tanzbär, who heated up the party atmosphere. This well-attended Kommers on Saturday evening not only offered entertainment, but also informative lectures on the chronicles of the two clubs. Speeches by Carolin Wirth and Barbara Jörn, the chairmen of the two associations, as well as speeches by District Administrator Astrid Klinkert-Kittel and Mayor Torsten Bauer gave the festival an official setting.
The honor for long-standing members was particularly pleasing, with Barbara Jörn thanking members of the riding club for their 50 years of loyalty. There was also great pride in the number of members: 212 members of the two clubs represent an impressive 88% of the 240 residents of Vahle. Heinz-Willi Elter praised the excellent equipment in the gymnastics club's sports hall, which is important for the future of the club's work.
Entertaining acts that included footwear of human frogs and cowgirls/cowboys added to the entertainment fun. The evening was then celebrated with the open dance organized by the band Project:Haven. Sunday morning opened with a wake-up call with pipes and drums, followed by a morning pint with the marching band, which successfully rounded off the festivities.
