New tenant in the Züfle: Jochen Leukart brings a breath of fresh air to Glatt!
On July 1, 2025, a change of tenant took place in the hotel-restaurant “Züfle” in Glatt, Sulz. Norbert Stockhus takes over the management of the traditional house, which has existed since 1895. The official opening with invited guests is scheduled for July 5, 2025, which further increases the anticipation for the new developments in the “Züfle”. The operation will be continued as a GmbH by Jochen Leukart, who has been managing director of “Hotel Züfle GmbH” since July 1, 2020. This is reported by the Black Forest messenger.
Leukart, who is 41 years old and originally comes from Bietenhausen near Rangendingen, previously managed the “Momentum” restaurant in Sulzau. He emphasizes his passion for gastronomy and cooking, which, during his time at “Momentum”, led him to swing the wooden spoons himself when the chef was away. Leukart's previous experience in the catering industry and his career as a management consultant have accompanied him on his way to this new challenge at “Züfle”.
A traditional house remains
The hotel-restaurant “Züfle” has a total of 20 rooms, three holiday apartments, two suites, a restaurant area as well as a wellness area and two meeting rooms. The takeover by Leukart was regulated as part of a purchase agreement with the previous owners, Volker and Marie Bertram, with a purchase option being provided. The menu at “Züfle” will remain unchanged, but various themed evenings are being planned to offer guests new culinary experiences.
Leukart plans to take over the existing staff of 13 employees, including two chefs. He also attaches great importance to a regional focus and the use of sustainable products in the kitchen. These approaches are in line with his previous philosophy in gastronomy and his vision for “Züfle”, which is considered an established restaurant in the region.
Staying true to his roots, Leukart already had his sights set on taking over the “Züfle” when he visited the house and immediately fell in love with the charming atmosphere. Even under new management, one of the most proven gastronomic establishments in Glatt will remain a trustworthy contact point for connoisseurs, which will appeal to both the local population and tourists.
