Saturday was all about children. At 2 p.m. a colorful children's parade started from the parking lot at Lampe's Posthotel under the motto “Film Heroes”. The little participants showed off their creative costumes, including icons like Spider-Man, pirates, unicorns and Harry Potter. Teachers and teaching staff from the primary school also took part in this parade, which led from Untere Hilsstrasse to the expensive time and back to the festival tent.
Festive performances and community spirit
The residents of Grünenplan showed great hospitality by smartly decorating many houses and front gardens with festive materials. In the festival tent, the children were welcomed with coffee and cake by the local seniors, including the local mayor Markus Oppermann (SPD). In the afternoon, dance groups from Tuspo Grünenplan and the “Frisch auf” cycling club provided entertainment. The band from the Grünenplan Volunteer Fire Department also performed and accompanied the celebrations with musical sounds.
Sunday was no less festive. Despite the rainy weather, a large parade set off at 2 p.m., accompanied by municipal mayor Stephan Willudda, who welcomed guests from the Polish twin town of Grodzisk and from Merksplas in Belgium. Willudda praised the successful service and the positive response from visitors, which underlines the importance of such events for the community.
A celebratory conclusion
The festival continues on Monday with a hangover breakfast at 10 a.m. before the women's parade with musical accompaniment starts at 2 p.m. The crowning conclusion is a DJ session with DJ Tornado from 4 p.m. The organization of the festival was the responsibility of a festival committee made up of representatives of the various clubs that are committed to club life in the region.
