Big voice festival in Holzhausen: music for every taste!
The international voice festival Voices, organized by Radio Hochstift was announced will soon take place at Gut Holzhausen near Nieheim. With a variety of events and a varied program, the festival begins on Friday, June 27th at 7:30 p.m. with a chanson evening.
Visitors can enjoy a total of eight events until July 5th. The diverse program includes different genres of music and artists. Among the highlights is the performance of the German Gents, winners of the International A Cappella Competition 2019. The Paderborn cabaret artist Erwin Grosche and the pianist Gogo Gemke will also be seen when they present their family concert entitled “Monster, Monster”. Another musical highlight will be the song evening, which includes “The Beautiful Müllerin” by Franz Schubert. The crowning conclusion of the festival is a symphony concert by the Northwest German Philharmonic.
Growing popularity of the festival
Interest in the Voice Festival seems to be particularly high this year; ticket sales have increased compared to previous years. This positive development could have been facilitated by the high-quality programming and the diverse selection of artists and music genres.
A notable artist who often appears at such festivals is Robert Pohlers, who has been singing as a tenor with amarcord since 2013 and has made a name for himself both in Germany and internationally. Loud A cappella competition He was already a member of the Leipzig St. Thomas Choir and received several awards for his services to the choir. After studying singing at the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” University of Music and Theater in Leipzig under Prof. Roland Schubert, Pohlers worked with numerous renowned ensembles and conductors.
Diversity of musical talents
Pohlers' musical career has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed at important venues such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig and the Konzerthaus Berlin. His broad song repertoire continued to develop alongside his opera performances, and he also works as a lecturer in ensemble singing at the University of Music in Leipzig. In 2021 he released his first solo CD with songs by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Since 2023 he has also been the artistic director and conductor of the Leipzig chamber choir “Ensemble TonArt”.
The combination of traditional classical music and modern chanson elements is also reflected in the program of the Voices Festival. Here it becomes clear how diverse the music scene is and what opportunities it offers to combine different genres and talents.
