FC Holzhausen narrowly loses: first test match fiasco against Rottenburg

FC Holzhausen's first test match of the new season took place on July 13, 2025. The opponent was FC Rottenburg, who beat head coach Daniel Seemann's team 2-1. In the first half, FC Rottenburg showed an impressive performance and took a 2-0 lead thanks to two individual errors from Holzhausen.

The game was played after an intensive week of training for Holzhausen, and the players did not seem completely fresh after the first training sessions. However, there were some positive aspects, as six of Holzhausen's eight new signings were used in the match. The starting lineup included Julian Hauser, Erind Zogu, Tim Steinhilber, Lars Czerwonka, Flavio Vogt, Tim Zölle, Leon Hayer, Jonas Kurz, Simon Bok, Carlos Konz and Elias Wolf. Henning Schwenk, Julio Gourgel, Henry Seeger, Lysander Skoda, Oliver Grathwol and Vladan Djermanovic sat on the bench.

Increased performance in the second half

In the second half, Holzhausen was able to significantly improve his performance by substituting Henry Seeger and Lysander Skoda. Despite this increase, Holzhausen missed a penalty that Vladan Djermanovic was unable to convert. In the 79th minute, Flavio Vogt scored the next goal, but it was no longer enough to turn the game around. Daniel Seemann then had to admit that the passing game and the defensive structure still need to be improved.

The next challenge for FC Rottenburg is already on Tuesday, July 15, 2015, when they play in the next test match against the U19s of SSV Reutlingen 1905. In this test match the team will have the opportunity to get used to the game and prepare for the new season. With the three new additions, including Aaron Leyhr, who came from FC Holzhausen, the team would like to underline its ambitions in the coming season.
