Stop surfaces in Gohlis and Altlindenau: Leipzig ensures more security!
In the coming weeks, the city of Leipzig will begin with the marking of blocking space on three narrow streets, namely Roßlauer Straße, Rabenerstraße and Goetzstrasse. As the Leipziger Internet Zeitung reports, these measures should be implemented from Monday, October 13th. The costs for this project amount to around 3,500 euros.
The aim of the markings is to increase traffic and supply security, especially for emergency vehicles and city cleaning. The newly established blocking surfaces are intended to ensure that the towing curves are kept free. These measures are part of a comprehensive mobility strategy of the city that aims to increase the safety in traffic and to create accessible public spaces.
Part of the mobility strategy
The markings in Gohlis and Altlindenau are not the first of their kind. Since 2021, one -sided markings have been applied to clarify the parking regulations in over 50 narrow roads. These steps are part of the city -wide project to make mobility more secure in Leipzig. Further information on the mobility strategy is available on the official website of the city of Leipzig: www.leipzig.de/mobilitaets strategy.
A superior goal of these measures is the realization of the "Pact of Road Safety", which is borne by the federal government, the states and municipalities. In accordance with the traffic safety program 2021 to 2030, Germany is pursuing the Vision Zero: no dead or seriously injured in road traffic. This illustrates the importance of current initiatives to improve road traffic safety, which are not only locally but also in the European context. Information on the traffic safety strategies of the European Union, the federal and state governments are documented and called up on the corresponding platforms.
