On December 25, 2025, medical care in Leipzig will remain guaranteed during the Christmas holidays. Thanks to on-call practices and open pharmacies, citizens can also find support with health problems this holiday. The Saxony Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVS) has set up special emergency services to cover acute needs.
There are several on-call practices available in Leipzig on this day. These include general medicine, ophthalmology and ENT medicine at the Leipzig University Hospital. Emergency rooms and medical on-call services
Emergency rooms in Leipzig are also well staffed to provide quick care to people with acute medical emergencies. The pharmacies' emergency service hours begin at 8 a.m. and end at 7:59 a.m. the following day. An emergency service fee of 2.50 euros applies.
