Yesterday at noon there was a dramatic traffic accident in Vogelgesang that left two people injured! A 92-year-old man was driving his Toyota Yaris on federal highway 182 when, while turning onto Mittelstrasse, he overlooked a Mercedes Sprinter that had the right of way and was being driven by a 57-year-old driver. The violent collision left both drivers seriously injured.
The fire department had to arrive to secure the scene of the accident while the rescue workers transported the two men to hospitals. The two vehicles suffered serious damage and are no longer roadworthy. The total damage amounts to around 30,000 euros. The Torgau police are taking over the investigation and are now checking whether negligent bodily harm has occurred. A shocking incident that once again raises awareness of the dangers in road traffic!
