Protect your home: police warn of burglaries in Dresden!

At the beginning of the summer vacation, the Dresden police department warns of an increase in burglaries. In the past six months, a total of twelve burglaries have been registered in the southern and western districts of Elbstadt. The perpetrators took advantage of the absence of the tenants and mostly penetrated into the apartments without leaving traces, whereby they often stole jewelry and cash in particular. The crime scenes were mostly renovated apartment buildings, which the police alerted.

The police urgently give tips to protect your own home from burglars. Tenants should ensure that their doors and windows were safely closed when leaving the house and pay particular attention to signs of burglary, such as tilted windows. In view of the upcoming travel times, the police recommend that they inform neighbors about absences, to have the apartment inhabited and to lock all doors and windows properly. Key should never be deposited outdoors, and it is advisable to leave no evidence of your own absence on social media or answering machine.
