Protect your home: Police warn of break-ins in Dresden!
With the start of the summer holidays, the Dresden Police Department is warning of an increase in home break-ins. In the last six months, a total of twelve burglaries were registered in the southern and western districts of the Elbe city. The perpetrators took advantage of the tenants' absence and usually broke into the apartments without leaving any traces, often stealing jewelry and cash in particular. Crime scenes were mostly renovated apartment buildings, which alerted the police.
The police give urgent tips to protect your home from burglars. Tenants should ensure that their doors and windows are securely locked when leaving the house and pay particular attention to signs of break-in, such as tilted windows. In view of the upcoming travel times, the police recommend informing neighbors about absences, making the apartment appear occupied and properly locking all doors and windows. Keys should never be left outside, and it is advisable not to leave any notices of your absence on social media or answering machines.
