On Tuesday night, the residents of an apartment building on Virchowstrasse had to flee their apartments - a devastating basement fire had left them in fear and terror! The inferno broke out in a basement box shortly after midnight, and fortunately the tenants noticed the flames in time. They were able to get themselves to safety and return later.
The fire brigade was quickly on site: the brave emergency services from the main fire station and the north station quickly fought against the flames. Despite the dramatic incident, there were fortunately no injuries. But the damage is considerable - both the contents of the cellar box and parts of the masonry were severely affected. The exact amount of damage is still pending. While the criminal police are now investigating the cause of the fire, a fire investigator is called in to shed light on the matter.
