Border controls in the border triangle: Federal police stop 2 Ukrainians
On July 18, 2025, the federal police stopped two Ukrainian citizens who had entered the country illegally in the border triangle on the border between Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. During a check at the Lückedorf – Petrovice border crossing around 3:50 a.m., a total of 16 Ukrainians were caught in a minibus from the Czech Republic. Among them was a 37-year-old woman who had stayed too long in the Schengen area and did not have a visa.
The two people are now the focus of investigations for violations of the residence law and were immediately returned to Poland and the Czech Republic. Such checks were carried out as part of increased border security measures to prevent illegal stays.
