Benjamin Sesko about to move to Arsenal? Mega transfer causes controversy!

Benjamin Sesko, the talented striker from RB Leipzig, could potentially complete a move to Arsenal. How Football Transfers reported, there are still contacts between Arsenal and the 22-year-old player's camp. However, Arsenal are unwilling to pay the required transfer fee of at least €80 million, complicating negotiations.

Sesko has made 32 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists. Despite these strong performances, Leipzig missed out on Champions League qualification and may therefore need to sell key players to create financial flexibility. Football London adds that Leipzig still has a chance in the Europa League if the team wins its last game and Borussia Dortmund loses.

Exchange uncertainty and competition

The current uncertainty regarding the move also arises from the interest in other players. In addition to Sesko, Arsenal are also monitoring Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyökeres. Gyökeres, who has scored 38 goals in 32 games this season, is also on Mikel Arteta's radar. Football Transfers mentioned that it is unclear whether Gyökeres can be signed for the club's own transfer fee of around 70 million euros, especially since his release clause is 100 million euros, which is significantly higher than the transfer fee for Sesko.

The negotiations over Sesko are dragging on. The reason for this could be the presence of Eddie Nketiah in the Arsenal team, which has prevented previous discussions. In a recent interview, Sesko emphasized his satisfaction at RB Leipzig and expressed his desire to achieve more with the club. His agent, Elvis Basanovic, emphasizes that the decision on Sesko's next move will be based on the best platform for his development, regardless of current circumstances.

Given the developments surrounding RB Leipzig and transfer fees in European football, it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached that is beneficial for both Sesko and Arsenal.
