New daycare project in Anger-Crottendorf: 134 places for the future!

In Anger-Crottendorf, a replacement building for the Könerstraße 43 day care center will be built from spring 2026. The measure is urgently necessary because the old daycare center was closed due to structural defects in the summer of 2021. This is evident from a report by Leipziger Internet Zeitung . The new building should offer space for a total of 134 children: 88 kindergarten children, 4 integration children and 42 crib children. The costs for the project are estimated at around 10.2 million euros.

The planned new building is expected to be put into operation in July 2028. Mayor Burkhard Jung has already confirmed the necessary administrative template in his service counseling. This template will come to the vote in the upcoming Juni Council meeting, such as The Leipziger Internet newspaper

necessity and planning

The youth mayor Vicki Felthaus emphasized the need for additional daycare centers in Anger-Crottendorf. The new building will inevitably meet modern requirements for daycare centers. A two -storey, non -basement and barrier -free solid construction is chosen, which corresponds to the requirements of the energy building standard 40. The daycare center is supplied with district heating and there are both a green roof and a PV system on the roof areas.

All group rooms of the new building are oriented towards the southwest and offer a view of a large garden, which meets the requirements for a modern kindergarten. These modern demands also include aspects such as sustainability, flexibility, security and health promotion. The sponsors hereby react to the specific need for childcare places, because kindergartens are crucial for early childhood education and development, such as rj-planungsbuero.de

historical context and art

The existing building of the former daycare center was built in 1970 in solid construction and has no longer been adjusted to today's requirements over the years. For this reason, it was decided to cancel the old building. Parts of the facade are decorated with representations of the music fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf", which are listed. In order to secure these works of art, a concept was developed in coordination with the monument protection authority, experts and architects. The planned new building is built between the two available reliefs.

The argument about the new building shows how important the consideration of history and identity is in the planning of educational institutions. The change from the old to the new daycare center is not only a structural process, but also a step into the future of early childhood education in Leipzig.
