Summer holidays 2025: Exciting experiences for kids in Leipzig!

In the summer of 2025, families in Leipzig can expect a varied holiday program that offers both creative and educational activities. The Leipzig City History Museum has prepared numerous events for children, young people and adults for the months of July and August, all of which promise great fun.

One of the central locations is the Schillergarten of the Schillerhaus, where little artists can live out their creativity by creating paper cutouts. The popular “Lemonade Time” also takes place here, where children can discover herbs and mix their own lemonade.

Adventure in the Old Town Hall and the Battle of the Nations Monument

The Old Town Hall becomes the venue for spooky tours in July. These experiences take participants into the dark side of the city's history and are offered on specific dates such as July 10th and 15th as well as July 24th and August 7th at 2 p.m. Participants can take part with a holiday pass for as little as €1; adults pay €3.

Another attraction is the Battle of the Nations Monument, where workshops are offered in which secret writings from 1813 can be deciphered. Family tours are also part of the program. On Family Day, July 12th, the event “…the wolf coughed and snorted, but the Battle of the Nations Monument is still standing!” take place. Entry here is free for first graders with a sugar bag on August 9th.

Radio workshops for young people

Young people in particular can look forward to the radio workshop “90s Flashback – Leipzig On Air” in Haus Böttchergäßchen. This workshop is intended for 12 to 18 year olds and will take place August 4th to 6th. Here participants can conduct interviews and produce their own radio show. The cost is €10 with a holiday pass and €15 without, but registration is necessary.
