CSD Leipzig 2025: Big street festival and 20,000 celebrations awaited!
Next Saturday, June 28, 2025, Leipzig becomes the scene of an important event: The highlight of the CSD week is expected, in which around 20,000 people under the motto "We stay here!" come together. The rally begins at 11.30 a.m. on Augustusplatz and is flanked by a move at 1 p.m. This moves across Prague Straße, through Zentrum-Südost, to Bavarian Square and finally ends at Leuschnerplatz before returning to the city. The city administration has reported that the central roads on Augustusplatz will be closed to trams and cars from 9 a.m. to around 8 p.m. to ensure the safety of the participants.
In the course of the afternoon, a street festival will take place on Augustusplatz from 4 p.m., which has various attractions for visitors. Particularly noteworthy is the awarding of the price for queer commitment, which is awarded to Ingo Günther. Günther has been committed to the Queere Community in Leipzig for over 30 years and has initiated numerous innovative projects that promote the life and visibility of the queer people in the city

The traffic authorities have taken extensive measures to guarantee the smooth running of the CSD. The access to the Augustusplatz underground car park remains possible via Goethestrasse so that residents and visitors can use the parking facilities. Although no larger counter-protests have been announced, a small "Stonewall" rally with around 20 participants is expected, which will also take place on Augustusplatz. The police and the city administration have prepared for a peaceful event.
