On November 10th, 2025 we will receive the current police report from Leipzig, which documents various incidents in the region that occurred between November 7th and 9th, 2025. The police are investigating several cases of accidents and crime, ranging from dangerous traffic accidents to burglaries.
A serious accident occurred on Lauterbacher Straße in Großbardau when a 32-year-old woman was hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old Tunisian, had over 2 per mille of alcohol in his blood. The woman was taken to hospital while investigations into the accident are ongoing.
Crime in the Leipzig Zoo
Another incident put the police at the Leipzig Zoo on alert. Between November 7th, 5:30 p.m. and November 8th, 6:20 a.m., unknown persons broke into the establishment, posted over a dozen graffiti and stole drinks. The graffiti varies in size from 0.80 x 0.40 m to 2.00 x 5.00 m. The refrigerators were broken into and the police have started an investigation into particularly serious theft in order to find the perpetrators.
In addition, graffiti vandalism was discovered at the Alliance90/The Greens office in Plagwitz. Unknown people sprayed the shop windows with a graphic work measuring 1.50 x 0.50 m. The property damage cannot yet be quantified; the police have initiated an investigation into property damage.
Fire incidents and traffic accidents
In Machern there was a fire in a woodshed on November 8th, which led to an attack on a carport and a residential building. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire in time, which caused an estimated damage of 20,000 euros. Fortunately, there were no injuries and two vehicles were saved.
The traffic accidents include another incident in Leipzig, where on November 8th there was a collision at the Maximilianallee/Messe-Allee intersection between a 25-year-old driver in a Mercedes A-Class and an 87-year-old driver in a Toyota Carina. The 25-year-old was taken to hospital while the older driver received medical attention at the scene. The property damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros, and investigations into negligent bodily harm are ongoing.
Another accident took place on November 7th in Grimma, where a 16-year-old moped driver was seriously injured when a 43-year-old Hyundai driver failed to see him while crossing the street. The moped driver has now been admitted to hospital and the property damage amounts to around 6,000 euros. Investigations into negligent bodily harm are also underway here.
