Unknown perpetrators broke into an apartment on Berliner Straße in Leipzig-Zentrum-Nord by overcoming the deadbolt on the apartment door. The criminal police have already secured clues and are investigating house burglaries. Cash and jewelery worth over €20,000 were stolen in the incident, underlining the seriousness of the crime. Police investigations are in full swing as the city is hit by a wave of burglaries. A large number of break-ins have been reported in recent days, affecting citizens' sense of security. On Thursday there were several incidents in Leipzig in which unknown persons broke into various facilities and apartments, which further aggravated the situation.

According to Tag24, the perpetrators violently broke into a care facility in Wiederitzsch on Wednesday evening between 8:30 p.m. and 5:55 a.m. the following morning. They managed to steal cell phones, money and even a car key. The burglars used the stolen key to steal a Skoda, which was later found, but the interior of the vehicle had been destroyed by an empty fire extinguisher. The material damage caused is currently unclear.

In addition, there was a break-in at a cultural institution in Neustadt-Neuschönefeld, where the thieves stole cash and a coffee machine worth a total of 70 euros. In another incident on Weidemannstrasse, burglars managed to break into an apartment in an apartment building. There they left behind vandalized rooms and stole jewelry and money worth a low five-figure amount. The police have also started investigations into these cases.
