TG Schömberg shines at the 2025 Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig – top placings!

On May 29th, the athletes from TG Schömberg traveled to Leipzig to take part in the International German Gymnastics Festival 2025. The journey took place by bus and the communal quarters were moved into. After an eventful day, the evening ended in a convivial manner on Augustinerplatz, the central festival site. Friday was free for participants to explore the exhibition grounds and take part in various hands-on activities.

Saturday was then dedicated to the competition. The results of TG Schömberg are impressive, especially with some outstanding performances. Noah Schmidt took 65th place in the 13/14 age group, while Paul Porger took 11th place in the same age group. In the 15/16 age group, Ben Adler and Mika Hoh achieved places 49 and 40. Simon Schlegel and Lena Hauer competed in the 18+ age group and took places 15 and 19. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Stefanie Sauter (AK 16/17), who reached 8th place, and Timm Sauter (AK 18+), who took 2nd place. Martin Bearman came 9th in the 40+ age group. Jonas Kaiser also competed at the German Youth Championships and came 9th in the 16/17 age group.

Trophies, impressions and return

The cup competitions followed on Sunday, in which Stefanie Sauter took 21st place in the 16/17 age group with over 600 participants, and Lena Hauer also took part. Both gymnasts competed in performance class 2 on the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. After an intensive weekend of competition, the gymnasts returned to Schömberg with many new impressions.

The gymnastics festival ended with a social gathering at the Schömberg reservoir. There was great joy about the achievements and the shared experiences, and there was anticipation for the upcoming state gymnastics festival in Konstanz in 2026.

The importance of the gymnastics festival is also reflected in the numbers: Loud DTB A total of 49,853 participants had registered by the registration deadline on March 3, 2025, making the gymnastics festival the largest competitive and popular sports event in the world. OK managing director Kati Brenner was pleased with the high number of participants and the diversity of the groups present. The target number of participants is 80,000 people. The 2025 European Gymnastics Championships will also take place as part of the gymnastics festival and will be held in Leipzig from May 26th to 31st. 346 athletes from 38 nations will compete, including 146 female and 177 gymnasts on various apparatus in the Leipzig Trade Fair. So far, 23,500 tickets have already been sold for the seven events.

The anticipation for the competitions is enormous, and the introduction of a mixed team final at the 2025 European Gymnastics Championships is also the focus of the participants.

The 2025 Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig will not only be a sporting highlight, but also a social event that brings gymnasts of all ages together.
