Tradition and community

The Trieb-Schönau e.V. local association was founded on June 3, 1993 and currently has 60 members. The initiative to found it came from local friends who wanted to preserve the history of Trieb and Schönau. Many of the 31 founding members had no traditions, but through the extensive collection of materials from the former local researcher Franz Wenschuh, they developed concrete goals. The first event took place in 1992 and was supported by 14 women who founded the well-known women's choir “Sing-Müller”.

Over the years there have been various renamings and developments. The women's choir was renamed the “Triebtal Mixed Choir” in 1995, which was occasionally accompanied by accordion player Lothar Weller. After his death, Gerhard Erler took over the accordion accompaniment, but later had to leave for health reasons. The choir is currently directed by Andreas Schmidt while the search for a new accordion player is active.
