Excitement around Martin Sellner: Police investigate violent calls!
Chemnitz, Deutschland - On July 14, 2025, visiting the right -wing extremist activist Martin Sellner in Chemnitz caused considerable political and public excitement. Sellner, who is prominently connected to the identity movement, was the subject of protests and discussions for weeks at the time of his appearance in the city. The call to submit shots on him during a demonstration led to the public prosecutor's office initiating a procedure against the author of this statement, but has now hired it, since the allegations are not sufficient to justify criminal prosecution, like the Freie Presse reported.
On Friday evening, the day of the demonstration, around 260 people protested against Sellner's appearance. Despite the big counter -demonstration, Sellner managed to enter the premises of the Pro Chemnitz/Freie Saxony city council group, which had officially invited him. While Sellner's speech was present at a rally at the "Center Chemnitz". The police were on site with a large contingent and had built barrier grids between the two camps to prevent clashes. During the mission, three participants of the right rally were reported for masking and another could not show approval for the sale of his books, which also led to an intervention by the police, such as the MDR reported.
Investigations and social reactions
The atmosphere during the protests was tense. A slogan was called in the counter -demonstration, which is now being checked under criminal law. In addition, unknown people have scratched a lettering against the counter -meeting in the road surface of a street, which led to an investigation into property damage. The announcement of a meeting of Sellner at right -wing extremists on topics such as the mass designation of people with migration history met with vehement criticism and led to mass demonstrations throughout Germany.
The German security authorities are currently in the examination as to whether an entry ban for Martin Sellner should be imposed. So far, however, there is no final decision on this matter. In view of the increasing tensions about the activist and the public discussion about right -wing political currents in Germany, the situation remains tense.
