On May 25, 2025, the Bruno Plache Stadium in Probstheida was filled to capacity when 1. FC Lok Leipzig played the Saxony Cup final against FC Erzgebirge Aue. After 120 tense minutes in which no goal was scored, the game had to be decided on penalties. Both teams put in a strong performance, but in the end it was Lok Leipzig that came out on top 6-5, winning both the Saxony Cup and the Regional League championship, making this season the most successful since the club was founded in 2003.
The penalty shootout offered dramatic moments. Lok keeper Niclas Müller saved Tim Hoffmann's decisive penalty, while Adrian Kireski scored the decisive goal for Lok, sending the spectators into ecstasy.
