A2 towards Hanover: closure and diversion due to fire risk!
The traffic situation on the A2 is causing significant disruption today, June 2, 2025. The motorway in the direction of Hanover between Magdeburg-Rothensee and Magdeburg-Zentrum is currently completely closed due to fire-fighting work. This has prompted authorities to set up diversions. Drivers should avoid the diversion from Burg-Zentrum, as the B1 in Möser is also closed due to construction work. Instead, it is recommended to take the B246a to Möckern, Gommern and Schönebeck and then return to the A14 to the A2, as radiosaw.de reports.
There were also other traffic problems on the A2. A report from this morning reports that visibility was impaired by smoke at the Garbsen Nord service area in the direction of Dortmund, where a car was on fire. This led to further traffic delays. Overall, there were numerous reports of broken down vehicles and traffic jams on the A2. Among other things, there was a traffic jam between Oberhausen and Dortmund, as well as a danger report due to a broken down vehicle between Bielefeld East and Bielefeld South. According to stau.info, traffic jams and traffic disruptions were also observed on other sections of the A2.
