Art highlight in Travemünde: Dalí brings the harbor panorama gallery to life!
On July 19, 2025, not only the “Travemünde Week” opened in Travemünde, but also the new “Gallery Hafenpanorama”, which is located in the cruise terminal. Mayor Jan Lindenau gave the opening speech and acknowledged the cultural significance of the gallery, as well as the tradition and cooperation in the region. “This exhibition shows the lively art scene in Travemünde,” emphasized Lindenau and at the same time thanked “Lübeck- und Travemünde Marketing GmbH”, which actively helped with support and marketing.
The gallery shows works by 17 exhibitors, including some renowned artists from the Travemünde artist community, but also originals by the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí. Inga Prasse, the first chairwoman of the artists' community, expressed her great appreciation for the exhibition, which refers to Travemünde, water, beach and sea.
The exhibition
The “Galerie Hafenpanorama” is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from July 18th to 27th, 2025, and admission is free. The exhibition includes a variety of art forms, including painting, photography, sculpture and installations. Thematically it is strongly connected to the Baltic Sea and the region. A highlight of the exhibition are the originals by Salvador Dalí, which come from a private collection and are presented at the stand of the Frankfurt Galerie Drei König.
The exhibiting artists include Inga Prasse, Sabine Schöne, Maia Bald, Claus Oldörp, Frauke Klatt and Angela Detmers. They show a personal signature in their works, which have a unique connection to the region.
Interactive elements and supporting program
The interactive element of the exhibition is particularly noteworthy: the artists are available for discussions so that visitors can gain deeper insights into the creation of their work. In addition, a supporting program with various hands-on activities is offered, which invites active participation.
The city of Lübeck not only supports the exhibition financially, but also shows its commitment to cultural support in the region. The “Galerie Hafenpanorama” is an excellent addition to the “Travemünde Week” and an expression of the dynamic art scene that Travemünde has to offer. Visitors can look forward to an extraordinary mix of local and international art that highlights the beauty of the Baltic Sea and the creativity of the artists.
Overall, the “Galerie Hafenpanorama” offers a unique opportunity to experience the connection between art and region and at the same time to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Salvador Dalí.
