From June 6th to 8th, 2025, Leipzig's city center will be transformed into a colorful festival of cultures and sounds. The 32nd Leipzig City Festival will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and promises a varied program for young and old. The event takes place without admission and is a highlight in the city's event calendar.
The organizers expect a real state of emergency in the city for the three days of the festival. Host Roman Knoblauch from Radio Leipzig will host the program on two stages, which will provide over 150 hours of live entertainment on five different stages. The numerous performances will include live concerts, a family program, rides and culinary delights. Puls Leipzig emphasizes that the event emphasizes the liveliness and openness of the city.
Stage program and highlights
The program is extensive and covers various genres of music. On Friday, June 6th, Augustusplatz will be the venue for the artists DJ Martin B. and the bands Anstandslos & Durchgeschnellt. Burgplatz welcomes the Mazze Wiesner Band and The Clogs. For the official opening at 7:15 p.m., a special celebration will take place at the market, while Irish folk will delight fans with “Nobody Knows” at the Nikolaikirchhof.
Saturday, June 7th, offers a special highlight for the children with the TOGGO tour, complemented by performances by the 80s gentleman Roman Knoblauch and Marc Bash. Additionally, tribute bands such as Edo Sparks and The E.N.D. expected on the market. The Nikolaikirchhof will once again be a place for Irish sounds with the band Sally Gardens.
The market concludes on Sunday, June 8th, with various musical performances such as Kevin Neon and the Spice Girls tribute band Spice4ever. The Eis Boys and the rock'n'roll band Nightfever also ensure the best atmosphere on Burgplatz.
Families, culinary delights and a festive atmosphere
The organizers attach great importance to a family-friendly atmosphere. On Augustusplatz, the TOGGO tour is designed to be inviting for little festival visitors with participation activities and play stations. A child-friendly program on Burgplatz as well as magic shows and interactive activities round off the offer.
The gastronomic diversity presents more than 100 stalls that offer street food, regional specialties as well as sweet and savory delicacies. Radio Leipzig highlights the high quality of local gastronomy, which will offer special delicacies and regional brewing. At Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz, visitors can also expect a cheerful fair atmosphere with rides, cotton candy and other attractions.
