In the summer of 2025, the Leipzig region invites you to an exciting series of cultural experiences that will take place in picturesque natural settings. The events cover a wide range of music, theater, literature and family programs. [mynewsdesk] reports that these extraordinary open-air events offer a first-class opportunity to enjoy unforgettable moments in nature.
The famous lake stage at Kriebstein provides a particularly attractive setting for various productions and concerts. From June 20th, 2025, the Mittelsächsisches Theater will perform the operetta “Gräfin Mariza” by Emmerich Kálmán, which will be available until August 31st. Children and adults can also visit the popular family play “Peter Pan”, which is on the program until August 16, 2025 [mittelsaechsisches-theater].
Classic sounds by the water
Another highlight will be the “Summer Classic by the Lake”, which will be organized by the Saxon Wind Philharmonic from June 20th to 22nd, 2025. The opening on June 20, 2025 has the motto “Sun, Moon & Stars” and awaits visitors with the majestic work “The Planets” by Gustav Holst. A special event is the performance of Carl Orff’s famous “Carmina Burana” on June 21, accompanied by the choir of the Leipzig University of Music and Theater. The family event “The Orchestra House” will also take place on June 22, 2025 at 3:30 p.m.
The cultural summer nights at Kriebstein will also have a permanent place in the summer calendar. Organized by the Central Saxony Cultural Summer (MISKUS), they promise a varied program, including a family concert with “Bö & the Ritter Rost Band” on August 7th and a concert by “Invisible Touch” on August 8th, 2025. The finale will be a performance by the “Simon & Garfunkel Revival Band” on August 9th.
Cultural diversity in the area
Culture is also very important at Lake Störmthal. Under the “VINETA” program, the audience can expect varied events such as “Music at the Dispatcher Tower” and “Culture on the VINETA”, with concerts every Thursday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The HAIN harbor theater on Lake Hainer offers an exciting program that includes concerts, cabaret, dance and readings. Highlights are the “Cuban Night” on June 28th and September 6th, 2025, followed by a performance by the cabaret duo Gerd and Paul Ulbricht on September 13th, 2025.
There are various ways to get there for those interested in visiting the Kriebstein floating stage. The location is easily accessible from all directions, be it from the east via the A4 or from the north via the B169. There are also good transport connections by bus, which run regularly to the Kriebstein dam on weekends and public holidays.
