Kofi Amoako: From Dynamo Dresden to the U21 and RB Leipzig!

Kofi Amoako, the talented 20-year-old footballer, recently caused a stir after being called up to the German U21 team at short notice. The Dynamo Dresden player is now training with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig as the U21s prepare for two important European Championship qualifiers. This reports Picture.

Last Saturday, Amoako competed with Dynamo Dresden in the 2nd league against KSC and showed his impressive skills. This move to the U21 is seen as a significant milestone in his career. He was originally intended for the DFB U20 team, which is preparing for an international trip to Portugal. But the call from U21 head coach Antonio Di Salvo came unexpectedly while Amoako was traveling with his family and he chose the U21s.

Preparation for important games

The U21 national team will face Greece on Friday, October 8th at 6 p.m. in Jena. The squad will then travel to Belfast to face Northern Ireland on Tuesday 12 October. These two games are crucial for European Championship qualification and will not take place in the Saxon Football Association's sports school, but on the RB Leipzig grounds.

Kofi Amoako's path to Dynamo Dresden

Kofi Amoako moved from VfL Wolfsburg to Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2025. He had previously completed a loan spell at VfL Osnabrück last season. In Dresden he was able to quickly integrate into the regular team and has already established himself as one of the top performers in the team. So far he has played seven second division games for Dynamo, which underlines his growing importance for the club.

Further information about Kofi Amoako and his subsequent call-up for the U21 can be found on the official website Dynamo Dresden.
