Become a volunteer at the FISU Games 2025 – Register now and take part!

In order to attend one of the biggest sporting events in the coming years, numerous volunteers are being sought for the FISU World University Games. These will take place in July 2025 in Germany, where around 10,000 student athletes and officials from around 170 nations are expected. The competitions span several cities, including Bochum, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr, and are scheduled to take place from July 16 to 27, 2025. The event requires a total of around 12,000 volunteers who can work in various areas.

Support is particularly needed in the “clothing service”. This primarily targets children and young people between the ages of 12 and 18. The volunteers have the opportunity to get active during the competitions from July 21st to 27th in the Lohrheide Stadium in Bochum-Wattenscheid. Future volunteers can choose flexible working days that cover both morning and evening sessions.

Opportunities for volunteers

A number of benefits await the volunteers. This includes free food during the event, access to the competitions on the weekend and a high-quality volunteer uniform. In addition, participants gain insights into the organization of a major sporting event and the opportunity to get in touch with people from all over the world.

The event is supported by the campaign “NO GAMES WITHOUT U!” supported, which emphasizes the importance of volunteers for the event. Mirjam Scheffler, Senior Manager Volunteers, emphasized that volunteers will play a crucial role in the image of the host cities and act as contact persons at the sports facilities. In the different work areas, which include more than 50, the volunteers can gain exciting insights into various sports as well as into the areas of communication and culture.

Important information about registration

There are a few requirements to consider when registering: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have fluent German or English skills and be available for at least four event days in summer 2025.
