New board of the SPD Dittelbrunn: Strong in the 2024 local elections!

On June 26, 2025, the general meeting of the SPD umbrella organization Dittelbrunn took place in the Hühnernest inn in Hambach. The meeting was characterized by the introduction of a new board of directors, which is made up of proven staff and new members. Chairman Holger Schmitt and the newly elected co-chair Marie Arnold reported on the SPD's successful activities in the community, which included, among other things, holiday fun with archery, a rose campaign at the start of school and a New Year's reception in the community center. Participation in numerous events in community life was also highlighted. According to mainpost.de, the new elections were harmonious and underline the party's determination to focus more on local political work.

The new elections led to a broad-based board with a total of 14 members. Holger Schmitt remains active as 2nd mayor and chairman, supported by the deputy chairmen Angelika Markert (Pfändhausen-Holzhausen), Ute Hofmann (Hambach) and Dr. Matthias Uhrmann (Dittelbrunn). The other most important functions go to Theo Laugsch as cashier and Rainer Patzke as secretary. The board is supplemented by the assessors Matthias Bünner, Petra Bohn, Michael Seuffert, Linus Klein, Johannes Kuhn and Uwe Klein. In addition, the district councilor Dr. Barbara Helmreich will act as an advisory member of the board, while the financial audit will be carried out by Christel Weger, Andreas Heil and Florian Töpper. According to mainfranken.news, this comprehensive composition shows the determination to take on the challenges ahead.

Focus on the 2024 local election campaign

A central topic of the meeting was the outlook for the 2024 local election campaign, which SPD district chairwoman Martina Braum spoke about. She praised the commitment of the Dittelbrunner SPD and emphasized the need to put together a strong and diverse list of candidates from the community. District Administrator Florian Töpper, who also took part in the meeting, emphasized the importance of local politics and trust in democratic structures. Töpper will run as a candidate for district administrator in the coming election.

There were also small honors during the meeting: the board presented gifts to those celebrating their birthdays and to a member on the birth of his first child. Lejla Gallagher also announced the founding of the AWO local association, which could signal a further strengthening of the community's social commitment.
