Creativity without limits: Creepy-hustle-and-bustle competition in the Budde House!

The Budde House in Leipzig-Gohlis will open two creative offerings in 2025 that are particularly aimed at social and cultural participation among citizens. One of these projects is the Scary Scurry competition, which appeals to both children and those young at heart. Participants are invited to create their own imaginative creepy creatures, supported by modern artificial intelligence. Leipziginfo reports that a profile on the Budde House website is required to describe the creature.

This profile asks various questions, including physical characteristics, location, food and special powers. This information is entered into an AI program, which then generates an image of the creature. The Spooky Wusel Festival, at which the results are presented, takes place on Halloween in the Budde House. The competition runs until August 31, 2025 and is aimed primarily at children, but young people and adults are also invited to take part. For further information, the Budde-Haus website can be accessed, which also offers specific conditions of participation.

A look at creativity

A list of imaginative creatures that have already been submitted shows how the competition has gone in recent years. Examples include “Dream,” a large green creature with four eyes and five wings who lives in the refrigerator and loves autumn. Or “Grunzel”, the 1.85 meter tall, black creature with a purple belly who can walk on water and breathe fire.

In addition to this creative competition, the Budde House in the art garden offers the “OHRlebnisse” project. Here you can take an acoustic walk that includes music, poems and life stories. Using QR codes, various listening stations can be accessed so that walkers can enjoy the variety of sounds.

Family-friendly offer

Especially the children's area, which includes guessing animal sounds, provides additional entertainment. The art garden is accessible daily and the Budde House offers special tours for people without a smartphone. Those interested can also find further information on the Budde House website, specifically at budde-haus.de/ohrlebnis.

In summary, the Budde House in Leipzig-Gohlis will offer a creative platform for the entire community in 2025. Be it through the scary scurry competition or the acoustic EAR experiences - the offers not only promote creativity, but also the togetherness of people in the region.
