Zittau, Deutschland - A 29-year-old Czech was caught by the federal police on July 23, 2025 at the Zittau Friedensstraße border crossing, while he wanted to smuggle five bags of Tobacco and 15 bars from Poland to Germany. The officers discovered 3,000 pieces of the brands L&M and Winston as well as 340 grams tobacco of the West brand under the cigarettes.

The amount significantly exceeds the permitted free amount. The Federal Customs Administration has taken over the matter and the illegal goods. The alleged smuggler will have to adapt to criminal proceedings for tax hail.
