Predatory blackmail in Leipzig: 20-year-old behind bars!
In a dramatic police operation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, a 20-year-old suspect was arrested who is strongly suspected of having committed an attack on a hotel employee in the heart of Leipzig on June 4, 2025. The investigators from the specialist police station and the emergency trains searched the suspect's apartment and that of the 21-year-old co-accused, where they seized extensive evidence in the early hours of the morning.
The Leipzig district court had previously ordered the searches at the request of the public prosecutor. The evidence found led to the young man being arrested and brought before an investigating judge, who issued an arrest warrant for particularly serious, predatory extortion in conjunction with grievous bodily harm. The suspect was taken to a correctional facility, while the 21-year-old, who is said to have been present during the attack, remains at large. The investigations against both people continue.
