Polish drug convict fails to return home and ends up in jail
A 28-year-old Pole was arrested on Tuesday night at the Görlitz motorway border crossing as he tried to enter Germany. The man was sentenced to a fine of 3,200 euros by the Bayreuth district court in December 2022 for violations of the Narcotics Act, but ignored the penalty order.
The Bayreuth public prosecutor's office then issued an arrest warrant and issued a wanted notice. When he tried to enter the country, the emergency services encountered the request and arrested him. The arrested man will now spend several weeks in a correctional facility while he confronts his financial problems.
