Iraqis arrested at highway crossing with fake documents!
Early in the morning at 4:25 a.m., the federal police checked a Lithuanian coach at the Ludwigsdorf motorway border crossing. An Iraqi citizen was noticed who did not present any required travel documents, but only a fake Polish residence card. He claimed that he had lost his passport and wanted to support this with fake registration letters.
A detailed check revealed that both the residence card and the registration letters were fakes. The man was already known to the German authorities: his asylum application was rejected in 2025 and he had been asked to leave the country because there was a risk of deportation if he did not comply. The federal police initiated criminal proceedings for forgery of documents and illegal residence and confiscated the forged documents.
