Great fire in Chemnitz: warehouse and vehicles in flames!

In the early Saturday evening, residents alarmed the fire brigade and police for a fire in Chemnitztalstrasse. On a company premises, several hundred euro pallets had initially risen in flames before the fire attacked an adjacent warehouse. Fortunately, the fire brigade prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings.

The warehouse burned down completely, and three vehicles that were parked on the site or in the immediate vicinity were also victims of the flames. During the extinguishing work, which lasted until Sunday morning, three firefighters suffered minor injuries, at the age of 19 and 34, and were treated on site. The property damage can currently not be quantified. The Chemnitz criminal police have started the investigation into the cause of the fire that has so far been unexplained. In addition, the Chemnitztalstraße between Dammweg and Bornaer Straße was fully blocked as a result of the fire and the operational measures.
