On July 22, 2025, a 48-year-old Romanian was arrested at the Breitenau border crossing. This happened during immigration control when the Karlsruhe public prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant against him for aggravated robbery. The arrest was the result of a meticulous investigation that had been ongoing since mid-July.
After his presentation at the Dresden District Court, pre-trial detention was ordered. The Romanian was then transferred to the Dresden correctional facility. The authorities are thus sending a clear signal in the fight against serious crime at the borders.
