Bicycle theft at the main train station: Syrian caught with stolen bike!
During a nighttime check at Leipzig main train station, federal police discovered a 20-year-old Syrian with a stolen bicycle. At 3:45 a.m. the officers noticed the damaged lock on the bike. During the check it turned out that the bike had been reported stolen. The Syrian claimed to have recently bought the bike for 150 euros.
But investigators remained skeptical and combed through the station's video recordings. The shock: The man was already visible in the photos the day before at 10 p.m. when he arrived from Oschatz with the stolen goods! This incident casts dark shadows over the main train station at night and impressively shows how quickly an alleged purchase can turn into serious theft.
