On June 16, 2025, the federal police in Zittau carried out increased border controls and stopped a cross-border coach. Among the passengers was a 37-year-old man from Trinidad and Tobago, who quickly came into the officers' sights. When his personal details were checked, it turned out that there was an arrest warrant against him from the Weiden public prosecutor's office. The reason? An open fine of 630.50 euros for an offense under the Narcotics Act.
The man was immediately arrested and taken to the police station. With this measure, the federal police sent a strong signal against illegal drug trafficking and strengthened security at the border.
