On a dramatic night on December 6, 2025, the Dresden fire department was called to several fire operations throughout the city. The operations took place mainly outdoors, where garbage and paper containers were on fire. Luckily there were no injuries. Firefighters needed a total of 12 firefighters for a burning Kia that had caught fire in the engine compartment and interior. The fire was quickly extinguished using respiratory protection and foam.
A 1,000 liter garbage container in front of a high-rise residential building was also on fire and was fought with over 1,000 liters of water. In another case, waste paper containers burned, which were also quickly extinguished. The police have now launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. The fire brigade was on duty throughout to fight the flames and prevent further damage.
