On Friday morning, a 28-year-old Libyan was arrested red-handed in Altlindenau, Leipzig, after he violently broke into an apartment on Wielandstrasse around 5 a.m. The resident of the house noticed the break-in and immediately alerted the police. This incident is not the only break-in that has occurred in Leipzig in recent weeks. On March 20, 2025, a 74-year-old senior woman in Leipzig-Grünau was the victim of a handbag robbery. Witnesses heard the cries for help and informed the police, who began an investigation into the robbery. A passer-by gave the elderly woman her handbag back, which alleviated the unpleasant experience somewhat Saxony Police reported.
