20 years of Haema: Leipziger celebrate lifesavers and calls for donations!

Leipzig, Deutschland - On June 10, 2025, the Haema donation center on Leipzig's market celebrated an impressive 20th anniversary. In the two decades, Haema established itself as the largest private sector blood and plasma donation service in Germany and showed further commitment in the region. Jens Lehmann, Olympic champion and CDU politician, supports the valuable work of Haema, the practices and clinics, including the St. Georg Hospital in Leipzig, with vital blood preparations.

She called on the citizens of Leipzig to actively get involved, because the donation itself only takes 5 to 7 minutes and can save lives. Various blood components can be donated to the Haema donation center: thoroughbred, plasma, platelet and leukocytes.

blood donations are of great importance because patients continue to rely on them. The different types of donations show how diverse the offers of help are. Thoroughbred donations, the most common type, are often carried out in DRK institutes and on mobile outside dates.
