Series of break-ins in Delitzsch: Police are looking for clues!

On June 11, 2025, the police in Delitzsch were called to two burglaries in the city that were committed during the Pentecost weekend. Unknown perpetrators broke into a bakery by forcefully prying open an electric sliding door. They ransacked the displays and opened the cash registers, from which four-figure amounts of cash were stolen. A clubhouse was also affected, which the burglars got into by breaking open the front door. Inside, a metal cabinet was pried open and keys to various objects were stolen. The police have started investigations into particularly serious theft, as l-iz.de reports.

The acts were committed between June 7, 2025, 2:30 p.m. and June 10, 2025, 2:50 p.m. The police in Delitzsch are hoping that the ongoing investigation will provide witness information in order to catch the perpetrators. According to blick.de, there have already been similar incidents in the region that indicate increased criminal activity.

Burglaries in Leipzig and the surrounding area

The police are not only required in Delitzsch. There was also a break-in in Leipzig, especially in the Plagwitz district. Here, on June 6, 2025, the perpetrators broke into an office building by prying open a window. Several office doors were forced open and a cash box containing several hundred euros, vehicle keys and numerous other keys were stolen. The total damage caused amounts to around 14,000 euros.

Another break-in occurred in the center-east of Leipzig, where a hotel and office complex was hit between June 6th and 9th, 2025. Unknown people probably entered the building via the underground car park and stole electronic devices and measurement technology.

Further incidents and investigations

An attempted break-in took place on June 2, 2025 in Belgershain, where unknown persons tried to blow up a cigarette machine using pyrotechnics. Despite the damage amounting to 6,000 euros, it was not possible to open the machine. The police are also investigating here. There was also a theft of a VW California Beach in Connewitz, the value of which is estimated at around 45,000 euros, and a house break-in in Markranstädt, in which various valuables were stolen.

Last but not least, the police in Leipzig also had to deal with a drunk driver. The 37-year-old driver attempted to evade a traffic stop at 1:35 a.m. on June 11, 2025. He was driving with a blood alcohol level of 2.02 per mille and ran several red lights. After his driving license has been secured, proceedings for endangering road traffic await him.
